    Emirates A380

Thinking of trying to catch the EK 380 one last time.

I realize that it's all down to the active, but does she tend to use particular runways? I'm headed to JFK on public transportation, as always, and I pretty much have to pick my route early on in the trip, as last-minute changes take lots of time to move from one place to another.

Sam, she's been in on 31L, 04R, 22L and 13L. 22/13 ops will usually mean she's in on 22, but I've also seen her come in on 13L while 22L was open as well. The only sure thing really is you won't see her on 31R. Good luck!

Thanks. So they don't bring her in on a separate runway for anything special, like wake turbulence? Good to know.

The perils of public transportation: sat for a looong time on an F train at 74th Street waiting for it to get going. Looked out the bus window just before I hit the dinger for 230th Pl and there she was, looming above. She went in on 22R, and I was about three minutes late. Will try again tomorrow.

looks like Saturday 5/30. Anyone know where she's going to? I'm assuming YYZ since they're picking her up the same day we lose her

I was at JFK Tues and Wed this week 22L and 13L were active on Tuesday and 201 came in on 22L on Wednesday 22L and 13L were active and 201 came in on 13L so there is not a great way to predict which runway it will come in on....

It seems to be arriving later & later...

So much so, they need to off-load the whale on hardstand...

Hanging out at FRG in the lot by Dave & Busters yesterday watching the 1-9s and saw the big boy coming overhead for 2-2 around 4:30 or so.
Even from a distance without grabbing my binocs I recognized its body shape.

    Re: Emirates A380

Yeah, I was out looking for her today (I never know where to go for 13L arrivals, so I was near Aqueduct over at Cohancy & N. Conduit) and saw all manner of heavy traffic come in on 13L, including 330s, the Qatar 777, and 767s. Didn't hear the A380 on the radio, but I did hear a heavy being cleared to 22L every now and then. Missed her arrival, but went over to T5 a little later to see her on the hardstand.

Do they do that much? Announce on the ATIS that arrivals are on a runway (like 13L today) and then send some in on an intersecting one (like 22L today)?

The ATIS will tell you both runways are in use. Thats what I heard at JFK and that what I always hear up here at Logan
