New Spotting Location: Google Street View!

    Cooool: http://tech.msn.com/products/slideshow. ... geindex=19

There are more links within that blurb. Seems as though people search high (not low...) for planes in the sky via Google Street view. The whole article is pretty funny, but I wanted to share that part with you guys.

Street veiw is neat. I was street viewing a few of our offices to discover Street caught some of our employees on the sidewalk on a smoke break. I find street view very helpful when it comes to directions. Just to see what's around your destination makes it easier to find when you get there in person.

that is pretty cool! i wonder where the shot was taken, that's a KC-135.
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.

According to the info with the picture, it's a street in Airway Heights, WA. When I searched on the address, it turned out to be right next door to Fairchild AFB, in Spokane. It's home to the 92nd Air Refueling Wing (the B-52s left in 1994, and I think we all remember what happened just before the last one left...) It's also home to the USAF Survival School, where I spent three fun filled weeks in 1985.

I am also a fan of street view, it's very handy if I have to go somewhere in Manhattan, it has saved me some time several times.

I have gone to my address in the Bronx, and actually seen my Maxima parked accross the street. My immediate neighborhood was photographed on a Beautiful Clear Blue Sky day. 3 blocks away they filmed on a very overcast day and everything is really dark and you miss a lot of the detail.

    Very cool technology

The first time I was trying to figure out how to get to Bayswater, I was treated with this view.

I guess I found the right spot!

Cool! I drove it around LGA a bit and didn't find anything overhead. :(
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9
