    NYC Fleet Week 2009

Last year, there was a long & juicy list of aircraft participating in the flyover that turned out to be highly inaccurate (this year's list has yet to be released). I wouldn't be surprised if some of the events listed below were to be canceled, but hey, we can always hope for the best. Regardless, it should be a great week!

Other than the Mets game flyover, any other fast movers coming in?

I thought they did some stuff past the Verrazano and up the river to the GW but after the whole thing a few weeks ago, I'm thinking they may avoid the area.

The fly over is usually after the last ship has passed the Verrazano and they fly up the Hudson to the GWB and then break off out of the area.

Last year we got four F/A-18's from the "Pukin Dogs" and if you blinked you missed them.

I am probably not even going to venture in for the Parade of Ships, just not worth it. Hopefully Republic will be much more active.

I've gone the past two years, not sure I will go again unless they bring in something very unique. It's pretty neat to see, but they pass by really quickly and then they're gone. It would be nice if they did a couple of laps up and down the Hudson.

Some Ospreys will be in town and around. It will be some CH-46's, UH-1N, AH-1W, etc at the parks.

Here's some stuff from last year.

Last year there were two Ospreys on the deck of one of the ships but they never flew.

Scotty you still hawking that Fence Check article from last year?

Just kidding, I really enjoyed it, good job and great pictures!

Looks like the only flyover for Fleetweek will be a few F/A-18's from The "Thunderbolts" of Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 251.

Rumor has it two V-22 Osprey's flew up the Hudson today along with three F/A-18's.

If true I really wish I had gone in. It wasn't on the list. Oh well.

Just a heads up, two Canadian ships are here. I guess they were Destroyers(?)-one had a choper on the rear deck. I saw them on my way over to Manhatten while I was on the Staten Island ferry. They came right up the Hudson.

Fleetweek info is never accurate or timely. I heard that there are 2 Ospreys at Teterboro so I guess the rumor is true.

Drove all the way into Manhattan to Central Park today to be told that the city said "no" to the USMC helicopter extraction demo.

Still snagged a couple city shots though; Central Park and R/C boating for the first time as well.
