i might be there sunday. have a function to attend near HPN on saturday but after that i'm driving to see my cousin in CT. it's only a short hop across the border to OQU.
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.
Man the V-22 is the one aircraft I'm dying to see. Nice.Originally Posted by fk6065

I'll be there! Just like Steven said, that show is well worth the drive.

Think i'm going to take a trip up there myself also....Can't miss to see the
V-22....
For anyone interested in going... get there early. Gates open at 9 am and there is almost always people lining up before 0730. The flying display usually starts around 9:45 and lasts until 4-4:30. Lighting is a little challenging in the morning, but is AMAZING once noon rolls around. Show runway is 16-34 and you face in the easterly direction as you look out towards show center. Oh, and that runway is at most, 500 feet in front of you. VERY close.
The performer list on the website is a bit questionable... pretty sure the Super Hornet demo was dropped (the Navy axed about 40% of the Hornet/Super Hornet shows this year because of budget cuts), and I'll believe the Osprey when I see it.

He ain't kidding... In 2007 we rolled into the parking lot before 8:30AM, it was after 10AM before we got past security and into the show!Originally Posted by Steven Holzinger

The 2007 show was a little tough because of the construction and having to use the shuttle buses. Last year I had no problem at all.
Definately worth the trip.

I'm being told that the route between the exit from RI Route 4 and the airport is now all highway, rather than having to go through that residential part of North Kingstown.

Yeah, the highway was recently completed about 6 months ago. Most handheld GPS's don't have updated maps so it sends you all over the place on roads that don't exist anymore. Sigh.Originally Posted by Steven Holzinger
