Friendship is like peeing on yourself: everyone can see it, but only you get the warm feeling that it brings.
gotta love that heritage flight with the Hornet and Corsair! Great set!
Have you ever seen a grown man naked?
Outstanding shots!

Thanks guys! I literally burned myself out with over 2,500 shots from the weekend and had to get away from this computer. To answer all your queries:
yes, I was at the top row of the bleachers on Sunday, right next to Rob Reider, the announcer and the main grandstand. Sat, I walked the entire flight line.
I used a Sigma 170-500mm, Canon 70-200mm Ultrasonic, Canon 18-55mm, at times a polarized filter on all three, a wing and a prayer.
the Stearman was sickeningly low. that guy broke the common laws of nature with that plane. Isaac Newton is turning in his grave right now.
I finally got my shirt. It took over 3 months and I even forgot that I ordered it, but the vendor was very apologetic. Hey, better late than never. I decided to show us off down there, at least on Sunday. Flight crews liked it. I was a hit with the C-5 team.
As for the F-18 colors - those were retro trainer colors used by the Navy. Part of their demo team, and very fitting with the Heritage theme.
The B-2 and the flag - dumb luck. I started looking behind me at several rather attractive ladies that were walking past (turns out they were all married to USAF Airmen), and caught the plane next to the flag. It just seemed fitting.
I was also granted access to the base more than an hour before the general public, so most of my static shots are just that. sans the crowds, the screaming kids and impatient parents. The shirt helped out there, as well. Nobody bothered me. THEY EVEN LET ME IN WITH A BACKPACK!!! I can't explain that one.

As had been mentioned in another forum here, Langley hosted the very last public demonstration of the F-15 Eagle West Coast Demo Team, and the model flown over the weekend was under the command of Capt Sam Joplin. Here are some captures of the very last flight on Sunday, including water cannon salute.

AWESOME shots from Langley !!!!
Thanks for sharing them with us here.
BTW, the F/A-18F Super Hornet Demo team will be flying at the Jones Beach Airshow
next month and unfortunately it doesn't have the same special 30th anniversary paint
scheme that the F/A-18C Legacy Hornet Demo team is using this year.

Yes, my son and I were there all three days. It was a really good show; the highlight for me was the last F-15 demo on Sunday. That last dedication pass was just incredible :shock:Originally Posted by N75715

Thanks guys....
Thought you guys would like this... exclusive video shot from the cockpit of the Vintage Thunderbird T-33. This video was shot on Friday, and there is also Saturday video as well. I plan on combining the Saturday video to give you an impression of the performance from the ground and from the cockpit.

Here's the final public airshow demonstration of the F-15 Eagle, as flown by Captain Sam "Nuke" Joplin. Unfortunately the lady near me decided to raise her umbrella during the demo... what a bitch.

EDIT: More videos I found of Nuke's last performance, shot by friends of mine.
