SUNDERLAND, England (UPI) --A 47-year-old British woman has been convicted of flouting a city order to keep her love-making sessions quiet, officials said.
Caroline Cartwright was fined more than $760 after being found guilty of breaching a noise abatement notice served on her after police received 25 complaints about her loud sessions with husband Steve, The Daily Telegraph reported.
"I am not making the noise on purpose," she told magistrates in Sunderland. "I have no desire to hurt anybody or damage any property."
One neighbor reportedly said she had not gotten a decent night's sleep for two years because of the Cartwrights. Another neighbor said she was forced to move out because of the noise, the Telegraph reported.
"I heard sounds of a sexual nature, they were really loud, and there was a lot of moaning and groaning and screaming as if in pain," said neighbor Rachel O'Connor, who recorded the couple for authorities. "It wasn't just the woman, it came from both parties."
