LGA Runway Weekend Closures for Mar 21/22

For anyone possibly interested in spotting at LGA this weekend pretty much a repeat of last weekend as far as runway closeures.

As always subject to change but the Port plans to close Runway 4-22 Saturday 3-21 from 0001 to 1800 local hours and Runway 13-31 Sunday 3-22 from 0600 to 1400.

Actually, these closures are sporadic. Yesterday, LGA was only using Rwy 22/4 in the AM but opened-up Rwy31/13 in the PM, so these schedules are tentative at best. Good spotting.

Like Ron posted, 13/31 was scheduled to be closed until 1400 (2pm) - early afternoon. They may have finished up their work a little earlier than planned and were able to get the runway open sooner than expected, but Ron's info has always been right on the money. Certainly weather or other contingencies may force last minute changes.

Actually 13-31 opened about 45 mins early on Sunday, or about 1315 lcl. What is odd the closeure the Sunday before caused huge delays and ground delay program for LGA with a very low arrival rate of 28 per hour. It took about 3 hours for the delay mess to get cleaned up after LGA resumed a 2 runway operation.

But this Sunday when I arrived at the office about 1245L there was no GDP, basically no delays at all, while I was happy a little confused.

I doubt anyone has any spotting plans for this weekend 3-28/29 with the lousy forecasted weather but for the record LGA Runway 4-22 will be closed Sat 3-28 from 0001L to 1200n, this is the only one for this weekend.

Due to forecasted weather (wind) for Saturday 4-4 both Runways will be open, However on Sunday 4-5 the Port does plan to close 4-22 from 0600 to 1200N.

Due to forecasted rain for early Saturday and the holidays their will be no weekend runway closeures this weekend (April 11-12) at LGA. As they hoped to close 4-22 look for it be closed the following weekend weather permitting.
