    92KRock now 92NOW, O&A Gone

NYC 92.3 K-Rock has dumped the Opie & Anthony show AND dumped rock music. Starting 5PM today they will be known as 92.3NOW
and will play Top 40 hits to compete with Z100 (LOL good luck with that). So now that leaves two rock stations in NYC, Q104 Classic rock and 101.9RXP which plays a pretty cool mix of classic and new rock.
Gotta love the quote from the CBS Radio VP about how they are "breaking the mold of the traditional radio station and creating a pure
multimedia companion for todays music fans". Gimme an F'in break!! ! :P :P

    THIS SUCKS!!!

I use to wake up to O&A at 6 then listen on my ride to work.

This is like the 3rd time 92.3 has switched genres in the last 3 years... Guess they must really be struggling.

When Stern left that was pretty much it for them. They tried all talk, that failed. Then they came back with a mix of alt and
hard rock. Then they put O & A in the AM and played a mix of alt/classic rock but lately it seemed like more classic rock.I dont
listen to commercial radio much as I have satellite in my SUV but when I do I listen to RXP. They have a nice mix and
I've heard a lot of new bands which you wont hear on Q104 which play the same songs I've been hearing for the last 30 plus years.

92.3's problem was that they claimed to be an alt rock station....but they were playing all this 80s metal/rock, before alternative even came out. I like ACDC as much as the next guy, but they play Dirty Deeds and Thunderstruck twice an hour, almost competing with how much 106.7 has a "Billy Joel on the 1's", with Scenes from an Italian Restaurant or She's Got a Way at :01, :11, :21, etc. every hour.

Just noticed this morning, it sucks! They were only open for about 2 years this time, and they constantly switched themes. The new stations music sounded like a mix of light fm and z100, I dont think they will last long.
