    Dan, based on your Massapequa location...try 125.7 / 127.4 / 132.4 (arrivals into JFK)
135.9 (JFK departure) 118.0 (NY Center - Low, usually FRG area arrivals/departures)
    118.8 (FRG tower)

You would be looking at either New York (ZNY) or Boston (ZBW) Center (Boston takes over from around Deer Park eastward). Might try a Google search on that...

    Boston Center freqs:

Most of your High Alt stuff up there you'll hear on ZNY 125.32 and ZBW 134.0
(Jason can correct me if Im wrong on that freq since he's the ZBW expert)

134.0 is DXR19 which is a low sector. IGN20 is the high sector for the area on 125.575, which hands off westbounds to ZNY's ETX 42 sector on 127.175.

Stuff south of there gets handed off from HTO31 on 124.525 to ZNY's JFK56 (125.32).

    Re: scanner frequencies

I totally agree on the 124.525-Boston and 125.325-New York. Coming up from the South these frequencies are bordered by 133.125 and 121.025(Washington ARTCC). To the west you would probably be tuning in to 125.575-Boston to 127.175-New York if you see the southbound contrails off to your Northwest to West horizon. Contrails are usually diminishing as they get handed off to 134.0 due to the descending traffic into the Boston,Providence and Manchester Airports. You need anymore frequencies just give ma a PM or e mail me at [email protected]. I used to live on the cliffs of the New Jersey side of the Hudson so I still have to memory all the BOS,NYC,CLE,AND WASH ARTCC'S.
