New Yorkers annoyed by slow walkers

Slow and oblivious sidewalk travelers were worthy of being "punched in the face," the New York Post said Sunday.

    Monday, February 2, 2009

(UPI) - Individuals who walk slowly on New York sidewalks have topped a survey of the most annoying New York resident types, two Web site operators say.

The unidentified operators of the Web site, People Who Deserve, said slow and oblivious sidewalk travelers were worthy of being "punched in the face," the New York Post said Sunday.

"You clog our sidewalks and subway platforms. You make us late and irritable," the site operators said online. "You ruin the morning before the day even starts."

"You're going to get punched in the face. And it's nobody's fault but your own."

Nearly 29 percent of the 2,300 people surveyed by the Web site picked slow walkers as the most annoying.

Those who operate Bluetooth machines in any New York location came in second on the list with 24 percent of the total votes.

Individuals who bring too many items to a New York grocery store's express line took third on the annoying list with 11 percent, the Post said. No margin of error was given for the survey results.

Slow walkers anywhere are worthy of being punched in the face.

Slow walkers are definitely annoying as are people who stop at the bottom of stairs and escalators and are oblivious to what is going on. But to advocate punching them in the face is just too harsh. Maybe the site was done tongue-in-cheek but I'm not so sure.
    People really need to chill.

OMG I hate it when that happenes to me either in school or when I'm out in the city. Tryin to catch a subway or bus half the time I end up walking/running on the street b/c the sidewalk is moving so slowly.
    Ahh... the NY minute.

WHen I did commute, I disliked the cslow walkers.

So we used them as slalom poles and speedwalked around them.
And I, I took the path less traveled by
and that has made all the difference......yet...
I have a feeling a handle of people are going to be very interested in what I post in the near future.

still do the same to this day. what annoys me more is the people that want to stand right up behind you in line, so close that they could practically be in your pants. make me wanna fart sometimes to get them to back off...

it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.
