Pittsburgh Schools on 2 hour delay BC of Superbowl

In no uncertain terms is this basically saying its "OK" to skip school. I'm just really blown away but the level of ineptitude and thought process with this decision.

How is this saying it's OK to skip school? If anything, it's dealing with the reality that many people (kids included) are going to be up late watching the game and the post-game ceremonies. So they delay the start of the school day by a couple of hours, it certainly doesn't rise to the level of "ineptitude". Besides, when the Steelers lose, they are going to be crying all night, and will need the extra time to deal with it.

How isn't it Jon? You're saying its ok to skip out on a responsibility? That's BS...these people have work and school the next day, have some accountability for yourself, get up, go to work and school. Besides its a waste of tax payer dollars, the teachers and staff get to sleep off a hang over and the schools will still receive their full federal funding for the day.

Oh answer me this...? What about the parents who will have to get up at their regular hour who weren't up late and go into their jobs? What do they do with their kids Jon? I'm sure most big companies didn't send out a memo saying its ok for you to come in late. Now those people will have to take a hit in their paycheck for having to stay home until their kids go to school because some teacher is sleeping one off. The assumption that EVERYONE is going to be up late and drunk is pathetic.

The reality is Jon this decision rewards laziness, irresponsibility and if you really want to stretch this, that excessive consumption of alcohol is OK. These are great messages we want to send to our kids.

i don't really see how bud light or coors light even qualifies as alcohol, or how it's possible to get a hangover from drinking water with yellow food coloring in it anway.

i do agree with you tommy, it's pure laziness on thier part.

Though I do not agree with the action, it is understandable in a football town....
