A USMC C-9A (DC-9-30) made a noisy departure off 13. If anyone on here was at Citifield you probably saw and heard it, as it went right over the top.

I was at Citi Field and yes I saw it.

Both of todays special movements happened right after I started my shift. First I was admiring the prettiest new colored DL 757 I have seen so far, it was actually NW's N556NW winglet equipped and although repainted a few months ago it looked like it was last week. She hadn't even got completly past our buidling when a loud roar got my attention as VP-BDJ blasted off 13 for MIA, they did not retract the gear until Citfield. She has not flown since June.

The ILS 22 circle to land 13 was flown my entire shift and is so much fun to watch from our offices vantage point. Many, many crews did a GREAT job flying this unique approach today !

    Cheers

of course they wait to do this until i'm not around... it's a conspiracy, i swear.
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.

This evening I saw an MD-80 flying low and level heading west well past LGA and I got a bit nervous...engine out? why isn't he climbing? WTF? And then I remembered the 22>13 approach they've been using.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9

    10 Aug

Very, very interesting day at the office today, here are the highlights.

    1310L

N557NW Wingletted 757 in new DL scheme

    1315L

C-FUJZ Jazz CRJ-705 (900) in Star Alliance livery, take a moment and think about that reg a for a moment. Kind of cool was a sharing the departure que with N829MD, Republic E-170 also in Star Alliance livery, rare to see two aircraft that size together in the scheme.

    1550L

N134SL, Avantair Avanti departed 31 for the long flight to Teterboro.

    1630L

N779JB, my first sighting of the jetBlue Real Soccer Special scheme, pretty sharpe !

    1910L

N448WN, the "Spirit of Kitty Hawk" spent about 2 hours in line for takeoff due to weather between New York and Chicago. This bird represents about 1/3 of the WM aircraft I see at LGA, really faded blue section, and not very pretty IMO.

And last but not least starting about 8:00PM we had the worse case of gridlock I have seen in a while. The inbound operating my last BOS Shuttle took 65 mins from touchown to the gate. Had many others take 45 min to and hour to do the same.

    Regards

WOW! go figure i missed out... my last arrival into SNS took me 2 minutes to taxi to the ramp, only because of the three citabrias in front of me.

up and down rwy 31 hasn't caused any exciting traffic conflicts as of yet. N742MA did pay us a visit, the tail logo has returned since this pic was taken.

N391AA just departed as AAL1423 to MIA, an interesting surprise for sure...
