Saudi Arabian SP in the Wind

I don't know whether it was as windy in NYC as it was in Washington today - steady at 28kts, gusting up to 45kts. Winds were out of the west, so Dulles was using the unusual "1R circle to 30" approach which allows for some great banking photos. I have a lot of shots of such approaches, but today brought something rare - a little "test flight" of the Saudi Arabian 747SP HZ-AIJ that has been hanging around Dulles for over a month. Anyway, clouds covered most of the approach, but I did manage to get one sunny shot that left me smiling. Enjoy, and a Happy New Year to all! :D

    Greets,
    -Omar S.

omar that last shot is amazing. you couldn't hope for more, except a clean and shiny airplane but you can't have it all. great work, and happy new year from a windy and cold NYC.
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.

Damn, what a great way to end 2008! Congrats Omar, awesome shots.

I wasn't aware that Saudi had two SPs, I thought -AIF was their only one.
