LINDEN, N.J. — A small plane crashed in an industrial area of Linden and then burst into flames on Sunday night, injuring two people who were on board.

Authorities said the victims, identified only as a man and a woman, were pulled from the burning aircraft. They were later flown by helicopter to University Hospital in Newark, but details on their injuries were not immediately available.

Authorities said the plane was taking off from Linden Airport when the crash occurred around 4 p.m. It went down near Linden Avenue, which is not far from the small general aviation airport along Routes 1 & 9.
