What defunct airlines have you flown?

I was thinking the other day of all the late, great airlines I used to fly. I miss a lot of them and, in fact, still "fly" the vintage birds in MS Flight Sim. I thought a fun thread might be memories of airlines we've flown that no longer with us.

    Okay, here goes my list:

    North Eastern (the "yellow birds")
National Airlines (probably my favorite. "Fly me")
    Pan Am
    TWA
    Eastern
    Piedmont
    Ozark
New York Air (free bagels and an NY Times on each flight)
Arrow Air (I don't miss them!)
    ATA
    Spirit

Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9

Re: What defunct airlines have you flown?

    Eastern (L1011 and 752/lots EWR-SFO)
    Carnival (732/EWR-FLL)
the Braniff incarnation that was around in the early 90s (727/EWR-FLL)
Piedmont (actually one of their commuter carriers) [SF3/EWR-SLK]
    Brockway (1900/EWR-SLK)

I also flew Canadian's 732 (YUL-ORD) after the merger with Air Canada, but before anything was integrated, much like how legacy HP is now in US's network.

    Does Northwest count yet?

it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.
