Hey guys,
I did not know about this until somebody from the Washington-Baltimore Spotters Group mentioned it a few days ago - apparently the Hagerstown Aviation Museum based at HGR has spend a fair amount of money fixing up an old C-119 Flying Boxcar (the same aircraft type used in the movie "Flight of the Phoenix") and are planning on flying it from Greybull, WY to the museum this weekend.
The plane is projected to arrive sometime around 2PM this Sunday at Hagerstown Regional Airport and from what I've heard, visitors will be allowed airside access to watch the arrival. I'll post any other details as I get them, but I thought I'd post the basic info now for anybody who is considering driving down. To the best of my knowledge, this is one of the very few airworthy C-119s in the US and this could very well be the last opportunity to see one flying without having to drive to some obscure airport in Wyoming or Alaska.
Greets,
-Omar S.
