    For the Ship Fans: QE2 Departs NY for Last Time Tonight

    QE2’s Farewell to America Celebration


    Queen Mary 2 and QE2 Cunard Royal Rendezvous™


    October 16, New York Harbour

    To mark this most historic occasion, Cunard has partnered with NYCruise to present the following commemorative festivities:

    * For her early morning arrival, QE2 will fly the traditional maritime Paying Off Pennant, which signifies the ship's length of service to the fleet.

    * FDNY Emerald Society Pipes and Drums performance salutes QE2 from the Battery Park City Promenade (State and Pearl Streets).

    * FDNY Fireboats and the U.S. Coast Guard will escort QE2 and Queen Mary 2 during sail away, along with a flotilla of pleasure craft.

    * QE2 and Queen Mary 2 to meet for a Cunard Royal RendezvousTM at The Statue of Liberty before embarking on a tandem crossing to Southampton, marking QE2's 806th and final Transatlantic voyage.

    Thousands of QE2 fans are expected to gather throughout the day at ideal viewing locations to bid QE2 a final "Bon Voyage." Viewing locations include:

    Battery Park
    On the southern shoreline of Manhattan, www.thebattery.org

    Robert F. Wagner, Jr. Park
    Overlooking the Hudson River with great views of the Statue of Liberty
    Just south of the Museum of Jewish Heritage

    Running the entire length of Battery Park City, along the Hudson River from Stuyvesant High School, on the north end all the way south to Battery Park

    Hudson River Park
    550-acre Park extending for five miles along the Manhattan shoreline from Battery Place to West 59th Street

    4:45 AM QE2 and Queen Mary 2 sail under Verrazano Narrows Bridge
    with a whistle salute signaling QE2's 710th and Final Arrival
    in New York
    5:15 AM QE2 and Queen Mary 2 sail by the Statue of Liberty
    5:45 AM QM2 berths alongside at Brooklyn Cruise Terminal
    6:00 AM QE2 berths alongside Pier 90


    DEPARTURE SCHEDULE*
    5:00 PM QE2 and Queen Mary 2 depart berths
    5:30 PM FDNY Emerald Society Pipes and Drums at Battery Park City Promenade
    6:10 PM QE2 and Queen Mary 2 "Rendezvous" near The Statue of Liberty
