    Derf's Thread

I have a new 500GB Mirrored Drive unit for safety.... TIME TO FILL IT!.
105DVD's worth of data to upload and now I get to see what I have been missing.

The crappy part is that we start out at the beginning of my photography. While with a higher
mega pixel camera you can crop...with 640X480X256 shades of grey at my start...cropping is
not really an option. I was very lucky as I did not have to ever pay for film again.....but realize
I was only limited to like 16 or so images if I remember correctly.

So here it is...my dirt shots from my beginning.

I will start with some very Early JFK shots from 2004 taken with a logitech photoman......

    For Tom!

    For Phil

    Woops, My Bad

    I really like this shot

    One more

    What am I, chopped liver?!!

Seriously, Fred, while I think I speak for us all in saying we are all bummed for you not having a camera right now, I look at the bright side:

You are digging up some oldies but goodies that would have otherwise remained buried. So I look forward to checking this thread periodically.
And I, I took the path less traveled by
and that has made all the difference......yet...
I have a feeling a handle of people are going to be very interested in what I post in the near future.

I think you need to recheck the dates on these. First, I don't think you were shooting with a Logitech Photoman in 2004, and TWA had retired their L-1011s several years before being shut down in 2001.

Ok, So we will start out the Derf thread with "Freds not the brightest light bulb on the store shelf" so as a peace offering I would like to add 3 more old images

and some video of a PAA 747sp taking off from Pan Am Roof top parking

and some Pan Am Heli Ops

Please remember.... I am good with short numbers...like F-Stops and thousandths of a second shutter.... :D

    Re: Derf's Thread

My second Digital was an Olympus 2.1 MP and had a max shutter of .5 sec.
I learned many things about photography but really learned composition with this camera.

    McArthur Airport 2-22-2002

but my first night shots left to much noise to be worthy of much without
a long shutter and no tripod

    2-14-2002

(I got my camera December 2001)

    Re: Derf's Thread

My first POS (Piece of SiHt) point and shoot was an Oly 2.1mp. And the bad habbits began.....Dragging the shutter

I also learned that I am as dumb as the camera when it comes to white balance!

Early I learned rule of thirds and worked very hard at composition

I learned that if you do not wear socks over your feet in an inlet picuture, some people
go out of their freakin mind!

I later learned how to really screu up a lightning shot.

    2-8-2002

And just because I thought this was kick A$s

More to come as I continue
