    Continental at SWF Update

    Hi All,

Just to keep you informed, the Port Authority along with Continental came to SWF on Saturday. The were looking at gates 3,4,5. We are hearing very strong rumors about them, all of which is true. Continental will come in and take gates 3, 4,5, and even 6. JetBlue no longer uses gate 6 so that is now open.

    Ciao for now,
    Anthony

    That's funny... I thought they already flew BCN-SWF-EWR, LGW-SWF-EWR, TXL-SWF-EWR, FRA-SWF-EWR?

And Gordon delivers a low blow to CO's Trans-Atlantic 757 ops

But seriously, this seems like a lot of gates for CO at SWF. Is something going on that we dont know about yet? I cant think of anything that would make sense....

    :D

For one thing it makes a lot of sense to have an operation base at the airport to lower the fees of their constant diversions. However does seem like a lot... I look forward to hearing what they have in store for SWF! I was out there yesterday and the terminal was very... Very quiet.

CO has been reintroducing several regional routes from EWR that were ended when COEX went all jet back in 2001, they are launching flights with DH-8-200s from EWR to Harrisburg, Scranton, Ithaca, PHL etc.. All former COEX routes formerly flown with ATR-42s, perhaps they are looking to expand this new strategy to include flights from EWR to SWF. AA used to fly JFK-SWF back in the '90s, COEX used to also fly EWR-ISP 5xs daily and Atlantic City 5xs daily with ATR-42s. Then there was the short lived EWR-HPN with ERJ-135s.

Wow, interesting. Are they all direct hops, like EWR-AVP-EWR, or like EWR-AVP-ITH-EWR?
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9
