In-Flight Magazines
With all the cost-cutting due to the rising cost of jet fuel, I was wondering if the airlines are still offering free in-flight magazines. They probably are since most of the magazines are advertisements and these revenues help with finances. I used to pick-up free copies of various magazines at the airline offices in midtown Manhattan but most offices are now closed and have been replaced with phone numbers or websites. Printed timetables are hard to find too. I believe that most, if not all, US airlines have discontinued printing timetables. Most foreign carriers still do. Aren't they also in dire straits from the high cost of fuel? Sadly, I discarded most of the older US timetables in the past as I had no space. Braniff, I recall, changed the color of the monthly timetable to reflect the various colors of their aircraft.
