Yay. Hasselblad has already announced a cam that will use it, just in case their 39MP model wasn't enough for you. B&H sells the 39 for $34,000, so I would guess the new 50 will come in for around the price of a BMW 5 series.
How big is 50 megapixels? "...with a 50 megapixel camera, in an aerial photo of a field 1.5 miles [about 2.5 km] across, you could detect an object about the size of a small notebook computer (1 foot by 1 foot)."
Not exactly a great aviation cam, shooting at only 1 frame per second, and fastest shutter is 1/800.
