I was listening to the FRG LiveATC stream at work and things were a little interesting this morning. A JetStream with hydraulic problems declared an emergency and came back to FRG; they did get gear and partial flaps and (as best I can tell) landed uneventfully, though they did have the airport stopped for a while. While that guy was trying to get the gear down, another plane already up was heading to Bridgeport, which had apparently closed with another emergency.

Heard this exchange:
Pilot: Bridgeport is closed with an emergency, so we're going to head over to Islip.
Tower: We're running out of airports around here, aren't we?
