That's a fun area to shoot from...it's tricky do any reasonable night photography when the weather is good due to the crowds though.

Where were you? Looks like between the bridges?

    Good stuff...

Very nice work, John! Is that lightning behind the left bridge tower in the last photo?

Yes that is lightning, this was in fact the last shot of the night.
I didn't see that I caught it until I looked at the pictures at home.
Took this shot, packed up and walked to the car, as we opened the car door, the rain came down...hard.
    Timing is everything.

Yes it was a really nice spot, I took some photos of the surrounding buildings as well as there is such a cool mix of architecture down in that area.

Great shots. I used to work on Washington St and shot stuff around the neighborhood and on the water just about every day during my lunch break.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.

it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.

Very nice! Did you use a cross screen filter to have the bridge lights twinkle?
