    Pocono NASCAR Fly-Over

Sunday at Pocono, we were treated to a fly-over by a B-52 prior to the NASCAR race - usually you get some little fighters doing these things, but Pocono has gotten a BUFF a couple of times. Lighting really sucked for aviation photos, but here are a few shots:

Coming in for a pass over the grandstand

That's the top of the grandstand (with the race team spotters' stand) on the left side of the photo.

After the fly-over, he turned and flew directly at us...

    A B-52 thundering 1,000 feet overhead - now that's the way to do a race fly-over! :D

:borat: 1000 feet must have been awesome!
The three most common expressions in aviation are, "Why is it doing that?", "Where are we?" and "Oh Crap".

Wow...lighting aside, those are some great shots...it's hard to make the B-52 look bad though :)

Awesome pics Moose - I saw that coming in watching the pre-race coverage - it looked really nice!

how far out was that airplane when you stopped hearing anything from track?
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.

Informant is right...scary plane...especially when it's coming at you. Wow. Good coverage, Moose.

Some races have "standing engagements" for flyovers - Dover, for example, always has TX ANG F-16s for some reason (which is sad - the track is almost within sight of the airbase; how great would it be to have a C-5 1000' over the bleachers).

Naturally, Richmond always had VA ANG -16s from the airport next door, but the unit was BRACed, and a RI ANG C-130J does the flyover (!?)
