    NYC at night

After attending Night Under the Stars, Im really getting into the art of night photography. Friday night, I headed to the waterfront at Long Island City to practice. I played around with the exposure and other settings. Im still trying to leard about HDR but it looks like I will have to upgrade by Photoshop version in order for me create HDR images.
    Here are some highlights:

nice shots! i miss living in queens west, great scenery and great company. ;)
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.

Nice shots...in the future if you want to get those lights to have a starburst effect, up your f/stop. These look like they were shot around f/5.6, next time try it at f/8, f/11, & f/16 and see if you like what you get.
Man I wish I lived closer to NYC.

Thanks for the comments guys. John, yes they were shot around 5.6 so next time I'll bump up the F stop.

That's a great spot...I finally made it out there tonight...

Here's a pano (I was too lazy to do an HDR, since the only big blown highlight is the Empire State Building...):

The original version is on my flickr, I didn't want to post a 5032px-wide image on the board :)

    Thanks!

ISO 100, f/5.6, 15 sec. Plus I used some noise reduction tricks I've picked up over the months...
