    EWR 5/24 Pic Review

I feel that EWR is rather undershot by us local spotters, for good reasons, however yesterday I had a rather pleasant and hassle-free day spotting at the airport.

Unfortunately the cloud cover came and went constantly which meant no sun for most of the arrivals. EWR was on a 4 configuration so we found a spot next to the approach and then later on went down to the other side of the airport to shoot some departures.

The highlight of the day was definitely the Air India 747-400 in new colors as well as the Singapore A340-500 with revised titles.

Arguably the two best angles to shoot the 767-400 at:

Nice shots Gordon, where you surpised how many Q-400's I assume you saw? I have been near the airport 4 times in the last two months (non-aviaiton related) and I have been amazed at all the Q400 movements.

    Cheers

    Thanks, guys.

Ron, I was very surprised. It wasn't all that long ago that they took delivery of their first and when you add the Porter Q-400s into the picture, the place is swarming with them!

Some nice shots there Gordon. The 767-400 looks quite good.

Nice, Gordon. I could see in the distance AI's 744 new paint pulling out of EWR when I was getting gas in Bound Brook. I'm glad I saw it. She does look good.

OK, here is the $64,000 question - where were you when you shot these, and did anyone harass you? Great shots! looks like afternoon lighting. Thanks, Roman

I recall a parking lot in the south side of EWR where I believe you can get a great view of the landings, but across the roadway I used to got behind the green gate where there is or was a small construction sight was taking place.. I used to take pictures from there. If you noticed a mountainlike dirt area behind the green gate across the southside parking lot here are my pictures from the small construction sight I took there last year and 06

And the landings from the same spot

I havent spoted aroun there since but It was a cool experience there. Im sure Gordon really found a healthy spot to have actually catch those landings..
