United Axes 500 Mile Minimum Flight Credit

Following the lead of US Airways, UA will be eliminating their 500 mile minimum as of July 1. You will now earn actual miles flown on short hops.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9

I wonder when (if) Delta and American will follow suit...

I hope they won't. I kind of depend on the 500 mile minimum for part of my itineraries since Daytona Beach to Atlanta is only 367 miles.

I like the 500 mile minimum.... Miles don't cost the company much and most of the time they are never redeemed....
    nwa FOREVER!
