    AA MD80 Emergency landing at JFK ?

    Just had the scanner on , about 1:45pm. Heard AA2275 check on for landing . On inital contact , I couldve sworn I heard him use the callsign "American 2275 emergency " Flightaware shows it was a LGA-BNA flight but circled over the City and made a quick downwind for JFK. It also sounded like the pilots voice on the radio was slightly distorted as if he had an Oxygen mask on...

    I never did bother to check on what precipitated the initial diversion, but by the time I got in it was already on the gate. Aprox. an hour later AC was out of service. Luckily we had a "spare" MD-80 laying around and it was used to continue to BNA.

    Yep, that was an emergency, Just got it on liveatc, JFK tower May 2nd, 1730z clip, 13 minutes in. Calls in as an emergency and tower says that emergency equipment is standing by if needed.
