Reverend Wright in the news again (the guy won't go away)

The more I listen to this, the more convinced that Obama is a liar. Also, nice spin job by Rev Wright, trying to say that the attack on him is an attack on the black church, nice try though.

WASHINGTON (AP) - In a defiant appearance before the Washington media, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright said Monday that criticism surrounding his fiery sermons is an attack on the black church and rejected those who have labeled him unpatriotic.

"I served six years in the military," Barack Obama's longtime pastor said. "Does that make me patriotic? How many years did (Vice President Dick) Cheney serve?"[quote:db79e]

Well that was a stupid comment, since Sen. Clinton & Sen. Obama did not serve in the military is he assuming that they are unpatriotic?

[quote:db79e]Wright spoke at the National Press Club before the Washington media and a supportive audience of black church leaders beginning a two-day symposium.

He said the black church tradition is not bombastic or controversial, but different and misunderstood by the "dominant culture" in the United States.

"You cannot do terrorism on other people and not expect it to come back to you," Wright said at the National Press Club when asked about a speech in which he asserted the September 11 attacks were retaliation for U.S. foreign policy.
Asked about another sermon in which he suggested the U.S. government created the AIDS virus to kill black people, Wright also did not retreat.

"Based on what has happened to Africans in this country, I believe our government is capable of doing anything," he said.

That's actually one thing he's right on about. Everyone plays this up like he's so radical; he's not. He's actually pretty moderate compared to some in the megachurch movement, but a lot of white people got freaked out because we had never been part of that conversation before. Even a lot of media pundits who should know better took part in playing up the "God Damn America" thing.

The fact is, this sort of thing is going to be an issue for pretty much anyone who is a part of a slightly non-mainstream religious organization...I know I could never run for political office as a Democrat because someone would dig up some rabbi of a synagogue I attended claiming the Palestinians are animals...

Interesting fact....the Good Reverend's latest appearance was setup by long time Clinton supporter Barbara Reynolds... This is now all about pride for Wright, he had a vision of becoming the spiritual advisor to Obama, driving up to the Whitehouse to council the President during times of moral dilemma but now that's out. He's being made into the old uncle who's going into retirement that the family forgot about and he's not happy. He's going to destroy Obama at this point. I just can't wait to see the DNC convention this summer. Even Chuck Lidell of the UFC wouldn't step into that fire pit.

I'd vote for Chuck Lidell over Obama, Hillary and McCain at this point.

It is no big secret that Obama used Reverend Wright to introduce him to the Chicago neighborhood & now the Obama does not need him anymore, Obama threw him to the curb, in a nice way.

Like Tommy said, Reverend Wright is not happy about that the relationship between Obama & Rev. Wright has been severed.

Had a good chuckle when Rev. Wright said that his church feeds the homeless, well, how many more homeless could have been fed if the church did not build that $10 million house, or how many will go hungry.....
