Obama would consider Gore for major post

Can somebody say, suckup? Not only is Al Gore a Superdelegate, but, he has the following of the global warming freaks behind him.

Sen. Barack Obama said Wednesday he would give Al Gore, a Nobel prize winner, a major role in an Obama administration to address the problem of global warming.

At a town-hall meeting, Obama was asked if he would tap the former vice president for his Cabinet, or an even higher level office, to handle global warming.

I give kudos to Obama with this one, I would have belted the guy, what an annoying jerk.

The Secret Service just lets random disturbed people walk up to him? Not good.

Gore being appointed to a cabinet position to confront global warming ranks just below abolishing the military on the Scary Things That Could Happen list.

Scary as it seems its a great polictal move right now. For god knows w/e reason Gore is rather popular right now and having him on Obama's team or even just floating the name is another torpedo into Hill's ship.

    Tommy

Politically speaking, this will gain Obama some votes with the Liberal voters, but, will cause Obama to lose votes with the Independents & Republican swing-voters.

It would have been wiser to say that he consults with Al Gore on Global Warming and not mention the offer of a Cabinet position.

Also, it weakens Obama & his "Change" slogan, when he surrounds himself with party members such as Gore, Kerry, & Kennedy, need fresh faces for change to take place.

No, it strengthens his "Change" platform significantly. Al Gore is one of the few politicians who has actually tried to address the problem of climate change. Having a ranting lunatic like him in the cabinet is scary, but not nearly as scary as the current status quo.

I don't get what you are saying? :?: How can having an political insider such as Al Gore, go with the "Change" slogan that Obama has been touting?

You do realize that when Obama says "Change" he means a change to the political system & not Global Warming or Climate Change.

Yes...he means a change to the political system. I never heard him say that means getting rid of everyone with political credentials...Obama actually is more of an "insider" than Gore at this point. And having people such as Gore in his cabinet says that he wants to start facing our problems instead of ignoring them...that's a change if I ever heard of one.

climate change being caused by man is FAR from being proved, in fact the evidence swings in the other way. But this is not the topic to discuss that, so I will not go into it.

I think it would ruin any chance he has with independents...
    nwa FOREVER!
