I heard about this guy this morning on Michael Smerconish. The dude is pretty ridiculous. I wonder how much different he is than those freaks from Westboro Baptist Church? Aside from protesting funerals, that is.
Yeah, I saw it, this is completely crazy!!
nwa FOREVER!
Saw Obama on Fox News, Obama did not come off as very believable, it is not good enough for Obama to say that he did not know, Obama went to his church for 20 years......

He has now quit Obama's campaign.

Nice try Obama!
Q: I don’t know if you’ve seen it, but it’s all over the wire today (from an ABC News story), a statement that your pastor (the Rev. Jeremiah Wright of Trinity United Church of Christ on Chicago’s South Side) made in a sermon in 2003 that instead of singing “God Bless America,” black people should sing a song essentially saying “God Damn America.”
A: I haven’t seen the line. This is a pastor who is on the brink of retirement who in the past has made some controversial statements. I profoundly disagree with some of these statements.
Q: What about this particular statement?
A: Obviously, I disagree with that. Here is what happens when you just cherry-pick statements from a guy who had a 40-year career as a pastor. There are times when people say things that are just wrong. But I think it’s important to judge me on what I’ve said in the past and what I believe.

Hmmmm? Having a hard time believing that Obama did not know what his Preacher was all about, here is something from a Feb. 28 interview:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/co ... 8022703658Two controversial Chicago figures -- Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan and the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, pastor of Obama's church -- have figured prominently in the criticism of Obama. In Tuesday's Democratic debate in Cleveland, Obama disavowed an endorsement from Farrakhan but did not directly answer a question about Wright once having said that Farrakhan "epitomizes greatness."
Anybody who thinks that Farrakhan is greatness, has serious problems.....

On the bright side, all this attention on the pastor of Obama's church should end the talk of him being a Muslim. :)

Yeah his Pastor is a real dip ****.... I can't believe this guy can say the things he says. Its not swaying my support for Obama.
My issue is that Obama is not taking a strong enough stance AGAINST this guy. He'll say "yeah, he's bad", but he's not denouncing him like he should be. This is the guy that married him and christened his children...is this really the first time Obama's heard him speak like this? I doubt it.
Obama needs to flat out say "I completely disagree with that this man is saying and my family and I will no longer attend his sermons." That's it. The President of the United States CANNOT follow a man like that.

Obama made a rare appearance on Fox News to try to dig himself out of this:

Not only that Phil, I can not believe that Obama did not hear one rumor about this nut job, also, Obama tried to play it off that the preacher only said a few negative things, this guy gave entire sermons over 20 years to a large audience.Originally Posted by Phil D.

God I hate politicians. This kind of quote....any opportunity to point out things they have done. He's asked a question, and immediately tangents...
"...but I knew him even before then when I was a community organizer on the south side helping steel workers find jobs...."
Obama....no one asked about that part. Cut to the chase. Not just him, but all politicians do that.
As for the questions, he was doing well until he was asked "Would you quit the church?". He then side-stepped, and that's not acceptable to me. This reverend cannot be POTUS's preacher.
This is huge to me with Obama. This preacher clearly has a track record of these kind of comments, and it's simply not acceptable. Being someone that has been pushing for Obama, this is very disappointing to me.

Obama is a liar as to what he did or did not know about the preacher:
Obama started running for president in May/2007.
Disinvitation by Obama Is CriticizedCOOPER: I mean, I think I read in your books that you listened to tapes of Reverend Wright when you were at Harvard Law School.
OBAMA: I did.
COOPER: So, you had no idea?
OBAMA: I understand.
I did not. Well, I want to be clear that, when I ran for president, some of these statements started surfacing.

Some black leaders are questioning Mr. Obama’s decision to distance his campaign from Mr. Wright because of the campaign’s apparent fear of criticism over Mr. Wright’s teachings, which some say are overly Afrocentric to the point of excluding whites.
“Senator Obama is proud of his pastor and his church, but because of the type of attention it was receiving on blogs and conservative talk shows, he decided to avoid having statements and beliefs being used out of context and forcing the entire church to defend itself,” Mr. Burton said.
Mr. Wright said that in the phone conversation in which Mr. Obama disinvited him from a role in the announcement, Mr. Obama cited an article in Rolling Stone, “The Radical Roots of Barack Obama.”
According to the pastor, Mr. Obama then told him, “You can get kind of rough in the sermons, so what we’ve decided is that it’s best for you not to be out there in public.”
