What is a good site to look up aircraft reg numbers. I am looking to find out what ZQX1182 is?
Any help is much appreciated.

Is that a military or civilian registration? It doesn't look like a civilian reg - I can't find anything that starts with a ZQ, and it doesn't look like a typical civilian registration format. If it's military, try the Scramble site at:

You do need to know what nationality or service it belongs to in order to check the database. At first glance, I thought it might be an RAF/RN code, but nothing turned up on Scramble under United Kingdom.

Thanks Moose. I think it's the reg of that S-92 helo that I see back and forth Northeast to Southwest frequently. I checked Passur and it had it at a couple thousand feet constant over my house all the way to CT. Thats the ID that it showed??
So after your search, maybe I should rephrase my question to; does anyone know who that S-92 helo is?

ZQX indicates a GA aircraft with an FAA privacy waiver.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9
