Thread: Anyone flown Delta JFK-SFO?

    Anyone flown Delta JFK-SFO?

I'm going to be in SF on business at the end of March and am in the process of booking flights.

Has anyone flown on Delta from JFK-SFO recently? Delta used to advertise seatback TV on their transcon but lately I haven't been seeing those ads? It appears they've been moving to the 737 on this route and I believe it was the ex-Song 757 that had the TVs.

Anyway, let me know. I'm just short of redemption levels on Delta and American and I guess if TV was available I'd pick Delta. Though, there's something to be said about the twin-aisle comfort on AA's 767s.

    Thanks in advance.

If you want TV's look at B6 or Virgin, far better then Delta but if you want a wide body go with AA.

Yeah. I've flown B6. Not bad but their loyalty programme is not great at all.

Curious about Virgin but miles are miles.

If it's a 757 it probably (but not definitely) will have personal IFE. If it's a 737 it definitely will not. If not for the mileage, I'd go for Virgin though, nicer seats, better food, better IFE, and good chance that it's cheaper.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9

Both legs on Delta are 737. I did a quick search on Virgin reviews and it doesn't look good. Sounds like the TV doesn't work much of the time. I also priced the itinerary and it was at the high end of the range. On the surface, the VA product looks compelling but even looking through their site it seems gimicky and a lot of verneer. I guess I can't really say until I fly these guys.

I thought DL was putting TVs in their transcontinental 737-800s now as well?

Yeah, I could swear I read in their flyer magazine that all 737s were being retrofitted with PTV's... and soon their whole fleet minus the MD80's and a couple others
