Which Runways Were Widened for A380 ?

According to the latest JFK Diagram, dated Jan 2005, only Rwy 4R/22L had been widened to 200' to accomodate the new A380. Have any other runways been widened since then? I seem to recall the LH A380 that visited also departed on Rwy 31L. Is that possible with only a 150' width?

150 foot wide operations are legal, but there are some restrictions (which I can't for the life of me remember)

I think a lot of the concern was for taxiway width and support for the aircraft's size and weight. I don't know if they necessarily needed to widen any of the runways.

If the previosuly posted info is correct, then we can see the A380 come in on any runway, right? Otherwise we'll end up saying "They're using 31R to land, but the 380 will come in on 22 anyway."

In a recent issue of Airliners there was an article that talked about what airports had made adjustments for the A380 and JFK was included. When I get home later tonight I'll check the article again and post what it mentions.

If memory serves, the A380 used 31L for a departure last year with no problems. I viewed her taxying last year after arrival from FRA on Rwy 22 from Terminal 1 (2nd Floor). T1 is one of the very few terminals at JFK that allows non-ticketed folks to visit. My former frequent trips to T7, T8, T3 and T2 are now just a memory. I was unable to enter any of the terminals mentioned (except for arriving passengers). I just saw the Queen Mary 2 an hour ago here in brooklyn and she frankly dwarves the A380.

I remember reading before the A380 first flew that the outboard engines were more than 150 feet apart...I'm not sure how this affects required runway width though.

If the A380 can only use 4R/22L, that's going to make for some very interesting ops when the weather goes to hell and they're using the ILS 13s...

Airbus’ A380 has received approval from both the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to be operated on runways with a width of 45 metres (150 feet) or more. Most of the world airports have 45m runways as standard width.

AFAIK, the runway was not widened at JFK
And I, I took the path less traveled by
and that has made all the difference......yet...
I have a feeling a handle of people are going to be very interested in what I post in the near future.

Exactly , 4R-22L has always been 200' wide

I know the Port added wider fillets, which are just shoulders at taxiway & runway intersections

The taxiways are the problem... the standard for them is 75' wide
