*UPDATED - CONFIRMED* Anyone want to join us?

So, member Nick Greed and I have booked our flights and hotel down to IAD, below are the details:

    Flights:
    NW1406. Fri, March 21st, 2008
    Depart: DTW 1:56 PM EDT
    Arrive: IAD 3:27 PM EDT
Econ, 18F, 19F (we might change these)
    Aircraft: DC9S (DC-9-30)

    NW1409. Wed, March 26th
    Depart: IAD 4:18 PM EDT
    Arrive: DTW 5:59 PM EDT
Econ, 14F, 15F (We might change these)
    Aircraft: DC9S (DC-9-30)

    Hotel:
Hyatt Dulles - 2300 Dulles Corner Boulevard
    Herndon, VA 20171
    Check-in date: Fri, Mar 21, 2008
    Check-out date: Wed, Mar 26, 2008

Great price for the flights and 5 nights at the Hyatt, $214 per person total including all taxes and fees! It will also give me an opportunity to get on the DC-9 again! (it was such a long time ago that I can't even remember it)

Again, if anyone wants to join us, feel free to. PM me if you are going to come or need any info.

It would be great to get a good sized group going!

I do have spring break that week. It's a very definite possibility if I can scrounge up some cash. I may even just drive down.

We are planning to book right now, if Nick ever calls me back.

Got a great deal on Orbitz, couldn't beat it myself.

flight plus 5 nights at the Hayat for $219 per person. If bought externally, the flights would be $119, that means for 5 nights, the hotel is only costing us $100 extra per person.

I don't think I'll be joining you but nice job, that's a great deal for DC.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9

Not sure I can join you, but be sure to sit in the last few rows of the Diesel 9! You won't regret it! Though not the last two rows as they don't have windows - refer to seatguru.com.

Yeah, on the way down we are in the 1st and 2nd row away from the engines (with windows)

How is the view of the first window near the engine? Is it blocked at all?

Probably not totally blocked, as I recall the view looking out the window towards the back will just be into the engine, but looking forward should be of the wing & scenery.

The view should either be something like this:

    or something like this:

These are thumbnails from my videos that are up on Flightlevel350.com where I was sitting also in the 1st or 2nd row in front of the engine.

At this point, I will be joining you guys. I'm going to stay with my sister and her boyfriend, who live outside Baltimore and split my time between BWI and IAD. I may only be out to IAD once or twice, as the drive is well over an hour.

No, Nick is back in Michigan.
For good, or just a few weeks?

For good. The training at ATP was great, but I was having trouble keeping up with the fast paced schedule, and when it was time for me to take my instrument check ride, I was not ready. They told me that the program was not felxable and I would not be able to take more time to study what I did not understand. So I am going to finish my training here at my local flight school that I got my PPL at. I am still going to get to the airlines, it is just going to be a longer road to get there is all.
