    McCain wins Florida

They are calling McCain the winner in Florida.

*Rumor has it that Rudy is going to endorse McCain*

    Waiting for more information

With the McCain win, the delegate total for the Republican are as follows

    McCain - 93
    Romney - 59
    Huckabee - 40

The Democrat delegate totals have not changed:

    Clinton - 249
    Obama - 179
    Edwards - 58

Yeah he really screwed up badly....He should have been in it from the start. He may have not won the early states but he might have built some momentum for today's primary. He really blew any chance he had, looks like McCain is going to be the man...which means the next Pres will be a Dem.

Just the fact that McCain was endorsed by the New York Slimes should be enough reason to not support him...

I don't think so Tommy. First I wouldn't count out Romney yet and either Romney or McCain beat Hillary handily. They both have views that are not that far right and the the fact is people like them. Where Hillary falls short. Obama got his ass handed to him and even though right now the delegates don't count I think is shows that the big diverse states are going to endorse Hillary and in the end she wins the nod and loses by the same margin Kerry did to GW.

Nick, I think you've forgotten what it's like to have a Democrat running for president who actually campaigns...

(Which is understandable, there hasn't been one since 1996...)

At this point it's not going to matter as much as you want to think. The country will not elect Hillary or Obama. They are too far left and with McCain or Romney you get the president who is not far right and still will be aggressive in the middle east. Like 04' if the Dems had a good candidate out there they win by a landslide but what do they do. John Kerry. Fast foward to 08' and what do they do? Someone who was an unknown a year ago and a woman that when she gives you that fake laugh you want to claw her eyes out. Also it would be nice for Obama and Hlllary to actually start telling us how they expect to do these things they are promising which they still refuse to do. All we hear is Change! Change! That will wear off soon and the margin of victory is going to be the voters who know the issues and will vote accordingly.

I think this country WILL elect an Obama....if he gets there. I don't think he will, unfortunately.

McCain won't lose by a landslide, but I don't see him getting in, and honestly, I don't want him in. He's a little too extreme with some of his views. I think he's a mess.

To me, it does look like Hillary is going to be our next President. I am frightened to death.

    Romney 74
    Huckabee 29
    Paul 6
    Giuliani 2

    Clinton 232

So is the majority of the country, which is why she will not win. Obama actually would fare a little better but if McCain or Romney campaign properly they get it done. McCain gets the conservative vote, veterans, hispanics and independants. He should carry the same states GW did rather easily.

McCain is too socially conservative to get the independents (except on immigration), and Romney is too Mormon to get the evangelists (who are the core support for Republicans).

Which means both sides would have to resort to some fairly dirty tricks to get votes. And Clinton is one of the few Democrats who still knows how to play that game.

This is going to get nasty.

    (Edit: clarify first paragraph)

Conservatives don't care too much for McCain since he's more moderate but are you saying they won't have a choice in the presidential election so conservatives will vote for him?

I am surprised McCain is doing so well. His economical stuff isn't very strong, and I think he's a little overly "gung-ho" when it comes to terror. We're in a messy spot in the world, and I think he may be too stubborn to make the needed changes.
