    Hey Guys,

Trying to find out what is the exact date of the Continental Connection Q-400 inaugural flight from EWR in FEB?

Going to try to fly in and be on the flight

was supposed to have been this coming week. don't know if it's still going to happen, my contact at colgan no longer works in HEF. she's since moved to IAD!
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.

Pretty sure BWI and PIT are two of the first 3 cities to be served from EWR if that is any help. As our Shares res system at work is not all that accurate as far as other airline scheds perhaps someone with Sabre res access or even better CO's own res system could look in avail out of EWR on 2-4.

Good Luck Gary, I have done a few inuagurals my self over the years and they can be fun. Probably the two most notable where the first ever rev flight of a 737-400 in the world with Piedmont and the first in the US and second ever in the world by a few hours for the 777 with United.

    Cheers

Re: Continental Connection Q-400 Inaugural Flight

Did a little research at work tonite, does look like Monday Feb 4 is day 1 and I found service to/from EWR from ALB/BWI and PIT. First flights I found where
    3201 ALB-EWR 0640-0740
3221 EWR-BWI 0815-0935, probably the same aircraft and crew.

Colgan has a hangar in ALB for Saab/Beech MTC and I think I read somewhere that some DH4 work would be done their.

If I found out anything else I will update in this thread.

    Cheers

ron, there is going to be a new hangar built in ALB, HEF and one other station for thier MX purposes. the current hangars can't fit the Q. of course, EWR is going to be the base but i'm sure that hangar space there will be taken care of with a quick phone call to COA...

Too bad that departure out of ALB is before sunrise. I would have liked to get out there on my way to work and get some pictures!

I know they are familiarizing everyone with this plane but it has been in and out of EWR to all the stations it will be serving every week day for the past few weeks. Seems a bit excessive now, sort of like my last sentence.
