Man this is probably on the of most dramatic shots from SXM I've seen. The low departure combined with how loud that must have been had to be wild to witness.

Holy crap! Reminds me of the MD-80 departures from 22 at LGA, except everything is cooler at SXM :)
Wow. With a DC-9, you know those beach-goers felt it in their chest.
There's also a BWIA 737 departure shot from the beach, and it's just as high as the landing planes.
