LAS 1/12 Whitebird is a curse!

Well John Klos got on a flight to the desert and we met up early as Dave Budd joined us shortly thereafter. We were also joined by Ryan Pastorino California. Then LAS locals Branden Perez and a new kid from anet named Wes joined us. The sunrise was awesome but 5 mins after Whitebird waved his want and BOOM! CLOUDS! We waited so patiently and got some sun in which we got some nice stuff, the Alaska new tails with the lei on the eskimo. The simpsons B6. Silver 1 and that hybrid WN flies. Some other good stuff was had and then as Jason gave it to us again not one but TWO 135s came in. Moose would have been proud. Yet it was dark and mine sucked. Maybe John can throw his up there they were something to see land right in front of us. Hoping they leave early tomorrrow but not likely. We are going to be at it again in the morning. Winds give us a chance at 1R departures and forecast is good so fingers are crossed. Here is a few of mine. I didn't do the B6 yet.

I got home late yesterday, and was plain exhausted from the trip, and knew if I started editing last night I was going to have major issues. I'll start editing some tonight and post some different stuff. The KC-135's were from Grissom AFB 434 ARW, I'll work on those first and post them hopefully tonight.

Re: LAS 1/12 Whitebird is a curse!

I've finally gotten some time to start editing my photos. As Nick said, the day started out promising, but the early intermittant clouds, followed by an almost overcast after lunch made for a very challenging day.
Here are some of my better ones from early in the day, and the 2 KC-135's in the horrible light conditions.

What Nick conveniently left out is that all day long he was calling out for Hillary. To be fair, he just wanted to catch the jet she was flying in on, but it was surreal hearing Nick of all people call Hillary's name all day long.

    Onto the pics:

I've waited too long to catch this airline

    Maryland One looking good

    America West special scheme

    WINGLETS!!!!

Ted climbs with NY NY Casino in the background

Delta B738 with WINGLETS in horrible light

    What's better that a KC-135?

TWO KC-135's...too bad the light sucked.

That was probably the best from Saturday, so I'll leave it at that. When I finish processing Sunday's photos I'll add them in the Sunday thread.

Only sitting at their terminal. They don't do much flying on the weekend.

There were 5 of them sitting at the terminal all weekend. Like Nick said, no movement Sat. or Sun.
I tried to get a shot of them on Sunday, but they were too far to get a decent shot or tail numbers.
