    Delta's N139DL - First Look

This bird recently re-entered revenue service after an extensive cabin refurbishment. I took a trip down to visit the folks in Orlando on Tuesday and planned my itinerary around this ship. Overall, this is a great leap forward from the previous interior. I found the seats very comfortable on both legs - I flew this plane down to MCO on Tuesday and back up to Atlanta this morning. These seats are identical to those being deployed on the 737-800 fleet. The entire 767-300 domestic fleet will receive this upgrade.

The new configuration is 262 (24/238), the previous being 250 (24/226). The increase in capacity is hardly noticeable and I found the leg room to be very comfortable - I'm 6'0". A couple notes - the overhead passenger service unit controls have been completely removed. Cabin lights, F/A call buttons, and volume control have their own page on the PTV screen.

    Here are a couple photos:

Sweet! I've been on one Delta plane that had IFE, and I was fairly impressed...not sure it'd keep me occupied through a long flight, but there was more than enough for a three-hour hop to Florida :)

Tom, the first class are the same seats as the ones you flew on out to SLC with AVOD.

Nice report Chris. Those upgrades belong on the -300ER first. I think they are going b ackwards. Internationals first then do the domestics. A nice upgrade though.

    Re: Delta's N139DL - First Look

Either im confused or DL is behind?

I thought these planes already HAD the Blue leather seats on their planes? Was this only on the MD aircrafts then?

It was my thinking, all DL aircrafts mainline had the blue leather your seeing, and the only thing they had to redo interior wise was the cabin walls, overhead bins, etc etc and the ex TWA 757's?

I do like the F/A button and all is by the touch screen and not above the seats.

So basically I was thinking why is this new news, DL already had this, unless I was totally wrong.

Now if we can get meals on flights with a stage length of an hour or greater we will be in business. (I dream of that day again)

Looks great, now only if they would configure their international 767-300s with this product!

    Re: Delta's N139DL - First Look

When I flew DL to FLL in Dec, I was on a newly refurbuished 757 and it had the same seatback PTV as in the photos. The IFE unit had some problems and the only things available were the flight map and the trivial quiz you could play against fellow passengers. I play 3 rounds and was defeated badly by others  Anyways, I like DL's new interior. The only issue I have is they refurbished the 767 cabin without installing the 777 style overhead bin.
