it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.
A Chinook and two Apaches were at LGA?!

Oct 10 - Allegiant DC-9 came in on EV31. Anyone know why?
I have photos that I need to edit, still on my camera.

Friday Oct 10th was fairly interesting at LGA. We got the nice looking Dept of Justice Dash-8 N713M.

We also got a pretty nice visitor. Allegiant MD87 N949MA

Allegiant has made several LGA visits this year operating Gambling junket charters to Mississipi, they are ground and passenger handled at LGA by CO. Every time I have seen them it's been with the MD-87.
But the highlight of the day was a DL Shuttle MD88 emergency landing, here are my coments from Delta777LR's LGA spotting thread with photos, check them out.
The first DL MD88 go-around was a pretty big deal. He had an unsafe gear indication and in your shots was doing a gear down check fly-by of the Tower. Came back to land about 15 mins later with the main gear doors down, something I have never seen before. They drugg on the runway and watched the roll-out with binaculars but never saw sparks. They did a dead-stop on Runway 31 between the end of the runway and the intersection with 4-22. This closed 13-31 for about 15-20 mins and the MD-88 was surrounded by emergency and Port Ops vehicles. After about 10-15 mins the gear doors where retracted and she taxied to the gate under her own power. Probably the most excitement we have seen here in a while

I suck if I thought that was a DC-9 and didn't realize it was an MD-87.

Sun Oct 12th: While light wise a GREAT day at LGA only two notable visitors at least on my watch.
The USMC G-3 that AirTrafficController got a nice shot of Saturday made a nice loud departure off 13.
We also saw for the second time the first DL 757-232 to recieve winglets N648DL. This is NOT on of the ex TWA birds and is in the Wavey Gravey or Deltaflot scheme, it actually looks really sharpe and so far no photos on the two largest photo sites.

Monday 10-13: As expected Allegiant retured from TUC (Tunica, Miss) around 1530 bringing back their load of gamblers and after a quick turn departed (ferry I assume) to BUF.
