Gate 2 Street should be buzzing. But when on a night off is it not? If you really want something to do venture down to Naha. Not nearly as many Americans and they have there own little mini countdown in center city. They were climbing trees, light poles, traffic lights etc. But lots of small bars and what not in the area.

Was going to go out, but here in Michigan we are getting 10-14 inches of snow tonight (mother nature chooses the best nights to do this) so, instead I am staying at home and having a few friends spend the night.

Yea we went to some bars outside Gate 2 for a little, came back to the hotel around 1AM and then went back out to some bar outside Gate 1 over by the water... Pretty good time!

    Re: New Year's Plans

I had a very interesting night. I went down the bar at my place and right away was shooting pool with a very drunk guy that looked exactly like our own adam613 (add a goatee). He kept leaving right in the middle of our rack to go play video poker. I had to go get him a million times. Then the casino trade crowd came and it got crazy. Some very good people here in IFP. There was a barmaid who was letting guys drink shots as the glass was wedged between her huge breasts (with her husband sitting right next to her) I drank quite a bit but paced myself so I was somewhat coherent. The ball dropped and we made much noise that didn't seem to stop. At 2 AM more trade people filed in and they just never stop drinking and playing video poker and acting crazy. I miss New Years in Vegas tho, we were watching it on TV and I remember 5 years ago I went up there. It is so nice, it's the time square experience but much nicer. May 2008 be prosperous for all.

    Re: New Year's Plans

Went out for dinner and headed home to watch Dick Clark and Ryan Seacrest. Seeing Clark still looking ageless but barely able to speak was kinda disturbing. I guess he's earned the right to be there no matter what. C'est la vie. :?

Oh well, still was a nice relaxing night after the gf's return from STL. Happy 2008!

    Re: New Year's Plans

Matt, I was thinking the same. Thought I felt his 'ageless' virtue made him look more like a zombie.

ACtually, last night went well until we tried to hook up a Wii to our receiver around 11pm. We've got one HDMI cable running through the wall to the mounted TV. And the cable blew!! So we HEARD Dick Clark but could not view him onscreen.

Having said that, I do have to say that since his stroke, he sounds better. Hearing him last night was a marked improvement from the year previous.

And what did you all do New Years Day? I ran another HMDI cable to the TV.

Slept in, then headed over the bridge to AZ to eat lunch and then sat at IFP. watched a SCY hybrid depart, didn't get the regi and then 809SY came in and turned around. The winds here last two days have been the worst ever and the pilots were earning their money big time.
