MIA, OPF spotting recap December 16th

    Greetings,
Spent December 16th at OPF, MIA to get a few more aircraft. I FINALLY sucessful in getting the Air France A320 after 2 failed attempts prior. This trips hightlight for me was the Dominican Air Force Casa 212 at OPF. A few other interesting aircraft are listed below.
The Best part of the trip was stopping off for the day/night at my old college friends house on thwe wya back to Orlando. I haven't seen him since 2000.

Nice catch on the Tab Cargo, Senga.

Looks like you tried out the cargo building parking lot. I haven't seen shots from that angle before from you, how was it?

    Thanks BIll, Gordon,
I think its a good spot. The only problem is that its really only doable if its cloudy or of the light is diffused like it wa when I shot from there. I didnt shoot any arrivals on runway 9. Maybe next time. I really like the perspective you get from shooting there.

Air France has 2 A320s based in the Caribbean that fly from FDF and PTP to SXM, MIA, and to French Guiana.

Air France has had one or two narrow body aircraft for MIA-Carribean ops since at least the 60's. Among others the Caravelle, 727, and 732. They also serve in addition to what Gordon mentioned PAP, or Puerto Prince, Hati.

Senga as always great catches and variety.

    Cheers

Senga, was there a security guard posted on top of the Cargo U's?

(where you got the shot of the Atlas, Tradewinds Airbus etc...)

Senga: great shots and I am glad you got what you wanted. BTW, I have an almost identical AA AB3 shot like yours --

Re: MIA, OPF spotting recap December 16th

Thanks for the compliments on the shots guys.

    ChrisW,
The camera settings I use change based on the conditions I am shooting in.
Generally I work in Program Mode or Apature Priority. Were my images that bad? :)

    ketko,
The AFR A320 flies from KMIA, MTPP, TNCM, TFFR and then reversed.

Eddie, No security posted up in the parking lot.
    Rafal,
YES I didn't get anything special. I NEVER go :(

Jiasong, Nice shot there. Yes it look almost like mine. Those A300s like to depart runway 12.
    Senga
