If you look at the DHL A300 on the top picture, the whole plane is made out of wood. I won that plane in a contest back in 1999. But yes I do have alot of Herpa Wings and some Starjet models. I love the 1:500 scale.

    WOW!!
The DHL model is nice, but i really like the AA and KLM MD-11s. Also, the TWA 747. BTW, what Concorde model it that (5th photo from top, bottom shelf)?
Also, in the first photo, on the right, there is what looks to be a 1/500 AA DC-10 (or MD-11). Is it starjets, because i had my eye out for a AA 3 holer for some time?
    Thanks

The KLM plane is a 767-300ER, not MD-11, the concorde there is an Air France model kit. The American Airlines DC-10 is a Gemini Jets model 1: 400 scale but i place the plane on a stand from a starjet model. Thank you all for enjoying my models!!

    Dude, that was hysterical. LOL.

Sergio, that is a great collection, my goodness!

what Concorde model it that (5th photo from top, bottom shelf)?
You know, that makes me think. You can make a Bingo game with Sergio's collection. 8)

That reminds me. I had a Concorde 1/100 model that we took to the baker when they made our Concorde wedding cake. No clue what happened to it. It was a model I built. But since BA gave us a nice new model as a wedding gift, I've long forgotten about my old one.
Thanks for reminding me. Gotta dig that up.

I'll try to post a pic of the collection soon. Incidentally, my collection ( mostly only of plane types and airline actually flown) is being redesigned into a bar with a possible running train to... Stay tuned!
And I, I took the path less traveled by
and that has made all the difference......yet...
I have a feeling a handle of people are going to be very interested in what I post in the near future.

    Re: New Model: Alitalia 772

OK, Matt, I have to thank you for this thread. Because of it, I remembered I had a Concorde model that I'd long forgotten about since I got married. We'd take it to the baker as she needed a model for our groom's cake.

So over the week, I trudged through the attic and garage and discovered many old forgottens in my collection. And at Phil's prodding, I took the time to lay it all out, take photos and most of this stuff is going into temporary storage again. They are now back in their boxes but here's a glimpse.

I've actually placed these in my order of collection. Meaning, as I've grown, you can see how my tastes in models are changed.

Enjoy my modest but revered collection 8) All are dusty as can be!

So first, some AA stuff, from a few AAunts.

And my first Concorde model. Its over 12 years old, as the glue shows. The gear broke off at one point, so I kitbashed it and made it so it looks like the gear were retracting. I was happy with how it came out.

One of my fav. military models, the Phantom. I detailed the heck out of it.

Then an AAunt started me on Schbak 1:600 models. Sorry the foreground is blurred but I was in a hurry. The Dc-10 in the back was made by Ertl. I loved the Ertl models. To the right are my homage to Russian technology and the jet age, in the Illuyshin and the Comet. To the left, my favorite 3 Star Fleet birds, from the movie series, Reliant, Enterprise and Excelsior.

Ertl made a Force One series. While many loathe it for lack of detail, I love how hardy these were. Some of the other smaller planes are Matchbox. I love diecast. It may someday be worth some chump change or a bit more, but I love thinking that I will be able to pass these on to my son.

So with every flight, I try to collect the airline and type that I have flown. As such, I've flown all these, with the exception of the 787(duh); the Harmony, 717, Eos and SNBrussels were all corporate gifts. The Concorde here was a lovely wedding gift from BA.

And here is Concorde. My travel documents, flask and my first Gemini, along with a b-day card. And my new found love of 400 Herpa and Gemini. Once more, I'd successfully held onto airline/types flown. Also, a rare, Danbury Mint Concorde...diecast or pewter, I'm unsure.

Finally, 2 of the bigger models I've gotten, for our son to get his chubby fingers on :)

PLease fire away with any thoughts, comments or questions or trivia! :)

Later, I'll try and take pics of the trains! LIRR's finest!

    Hope you all liked.

Hey, Matt what brand is that alitalia model? I have been looking for a decent 1:200 scale model but I cant find any semi-cheap ones. That alitalia looks like it is built well.
I only have few. The small 1:500 scale 737 is Herpa brand.

The Alitalia was a gift by Gordon, it was made by Skymarks, you would have to ask Gordon for the price.
