Nov 30, JFK/EWR, a tale of two airports

I visited both airports in one day. First I went to Bayswater to catch the CX morning departure. Although ATIS was reporting 22 take offs and landings, they were using 31L for departure as well. The first thing I saw when I arrived was a Fedex DC-10 taking off from 31L. Then as the CX 773 taxiied out, it was hard to tell whether it would proceed all the way to 31L, or simply got on 22R. Luckily it got on 22R and here is its take off shot --

Then JL 744 and World MD-11 in new livery both took off from 22R.

I also caught EVA 744 landing on 22L. This was the first time I saw a converted, instead of dedicated, 744 freighter.

Then they switch the runway to 31. So I went to Costco and caught SQ and EK 744 coming.

Doesn't this look like the Lion Rock turn for the old HKG 13?

I waited for Jet Airway's new 773 but it was late. So I have to catch it the next time. The traffic was bad going over to EWR, but I managed to get there and capture TP and SK 330s. So I had a productive day.

Yeah, pics aren't showing up for some reason. Since I had time, I went ahead and did some URL copying and posting and managed to see most of them. Good shots! Where did you shoot the EWR arrivals from?

Man, I don't know why, but more than once if I post the [img]properties[img], the photos don't show up on other people's browser. I use firefox to post these. What browsers do you use to view? My photos are originally posted on pbase; and their size are 1208 x 7xx or so. I am interested to find out how to post properly here. In any case, here are the URLs:

The location I found in EWR is off the I-78 toll area. It's used by the limo drivers to wait for their next trip. It's OK if you keep a low profile. I sat in the car and only went out to shoot after I saw something interesting. It pretty much as the same effect as the Mound.

    Enjoy.

Be careful with that location, I'm pretty sure there are no parking, stopping, or standing signs every several feet (if I'm thinking of the same place you are).

Nice! Where were you for those 31 shots BK or Firestone?
I like the angle on that Singapore 747.

Neither. It was from the good ol' Costco.
