Flights actually fluctuate between the A340-600 and 777-300ER. One week it's the 777-300ER and the next the A340-600.
So there is still sometime.
However this means that shots of the 777-300ER are more easy to obtain!

I do see a few 340's on the schedule, but not many.
I recently spoke with a Cathay 340-600 pilot, according to her they were no longer going to fly the 340 to JFK. She was now going to be temporarily based out of Sydney to fly the SYD-SIN route.

The Cathay NYC Sales Mgr who I met when visiting the Cathay truck road show last month told me the A-340-600 JFK has was being moved to the HKG-YYZ market so it could be flown non-stop instead of via an ANC fuel stop.
