    Qantas 747 at Rome/Griffis (KRME)

    Hi folks,
I trust the US members enjoyed Thanksgiving today, and spent time with the most important people in their lives.

I'm thinking of doing the 400 mile round trip to Rome tomorrow (Friday)! I hear there is a Qantas 747 parked there, some suggest it is there for the cut, while others suggest it is undergoing heavy maintainence for a new customer.

To save me a looooong trip, can anyone confirm it is there, please?!

    All the best

    Geoff

    Okay,

Thats a 600 mile round trip!!

Just back from Rome/Griffiss Air Park..

I didnt see the QF 747, but caught three out of four ex JAL ships reported at RME..

    N741UN 747-346 msn 24156 ex JA8189 all white
N743UN 747-346 msn 23640 ex JA8179 all white - already had this one at LHR Jan 21 1990!
    N749UN 747-246B msn 22991 ex JA8162 all white/engineless

The fourth JAL 747 and not seen:
    N742UN 747-346 msn 24019 ex JA8187.

Its quite possible this, and the QF machines were hangared, but a recent sighting of them in RME would be appreciated!

    Elsewhere on the field..
N523VA A320 Virgin America, plus an unidentified aircraft hangared next to 523. Looked like a 767 but tough to tell with the angle!

    Regards

    Geoff
