    JFK 4/28/72

I know this is slightly off topic because I don't have the regs for these sightings. (Maybe someone was at "The Mounds" on those days, THEY got the registrations). I got them from my bedroom window with a pair of 7x35 binoculars. I have them written in a little notebook that I came across when I was packing for a remodeling project. I would post a copy of the pages if I could figure out how???

    13:21 Pan Am 707
    13:23 American 727
    13:24 B.O.A.C 747
    13: 27 727
13:29 Delta CV-880 (I still remember the long trail of black exhaust as it banked onto final)
    13:30 Pan Am 747

    5/29/72
    16:22 Pan Am 747
    16:29 Air Canada DC-9
    16:30 Northeast 727 (Yellowbird)
    16:32 B.O.A.C VC-10
    16:35 Northwest 727
    16:36 American 747
    16:39 TWA 727
    16:39 Eastern Electra (My favorite!!)
    16:40 TWA 707
    16:40 Mohawk FH-227
    16:43 Loftledier DC-8
    16:45 Pan Am 747

(Among other listings in the notebook are)
    Pilgrim Twin Otter
    Aeroflot IL-62
National DC-10 ("Fly Me, I'm Betty!!!!)
Braniff DC-8 (Did'nt note the color)
    Seaboard World DC-8
    Aer Lingus 707
    Mohawk B111
    Olympic 707
FAA DC-3 ("Flight-check" used to test and calibrate the ILS)

Very cool, thanks for posting that.

Now, one can only wonder what routes these were serving! Would be interesting to see how things have changed.
And I, I took the path less traveled by
and that has made all the difference......yet...
I have a feeling a handle of people are going to be very interested in what I post in the near future.

Man now those were the days! I wonder how some will react 20 years from now if someone posted today's movements from JFK. We seem to grow tired of what we have today, If it was 30 years ago would we have been saying the same thing like we do today? "Oh its just another PanAm 747."

I can't imagine, but then again I've never seen a PanAm 747 in my life. If I traveled 2.8 quadrillion kilometers (rough calculation) from earth right now and had a telephoto lens with sufficient zoom, I'd be shooting classic 747s on finals for JFK in 1977. I guess it would also have to be a very clear day. :P

Definitely some nice frames you've got there! Thanks for posting!

    Greets,
