Flyglobespan Ends JFK On October 31st

Catch Flyglobespan while you still can because come October 31st they are pulling their 757-200 flights from Knock and Liverpool.

I'm not sure if they will be starting up again next summer season but apparently JFK wasn't very happy with their performance?

    Hi Gordon.

What do you mean JFK was not happy with their performance?
Can you be a little more specific?

FlyGlobespan is ramping down operations not just here but to alot of destinations they serve. Its seems they have some ops issues to contend with.

I'm not 100% sure what the statement means as I read it on Anet but I can imagine with their constant delays and aircraft issues in terms of switching from the 757-200 to the 737-800 and including frequent unscheduled fuel stops the feedback that the Port Authority(?) must have been receiving on the airline was not positive.

I don't think the PA would give a crap what planes they used, but maybe their ground handling company got annoyed?
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9

The ground handling company getting annoyed wouldn't be an issue. Swissport gets paid by the airline and it's not their place to get upset, nor would it have any influence over an airline staying. In a given day, there's always delays from airlines and ground handling companies learn to live with that, and the airlines learn to live with the faults of ground handling companies as well.

The only thing I can think of in regards to an "airport" becoming upset having an influence in the airline ceasing service would actually not be with the airport, but perhaps Customs. Maybe they weren't filing their paperwork and transmitting necessary information as they should before their Atlantic crossings.

There was also the multi-day stranding incident discussed in the thread below, which I think the public would have viewed as being handled in a highly unprofessional manner by the airline and likely resulted in many consumer complaints being lodged with the PA etc.
