Honest Abe Returns to DC on DL Shuttle

This guy surely attracts attention no matter where he goes.

    From a Delta internal newsline...

Honest Abe returns to D.C. on the Delta Shuttle
    September 21, 2007

A figure remarkably resembling former president Abraham Lincoln took a seat on the Delta Shuttle Thursday en route to Washington D.C., in preparation for the grand opening of Madame Tussauds’ newest wax emporium on Oct. 5. Delta Shuttle customers in New York got their first glimpse of the flight’s special guest as they boarded the aircraft bound for Washington-Reagan.

“This is the first time that the Delta Shuttle has flown a former president of Mr. Lincoln’s maturity,” said Captain Steve Sebastian. “We’re delighted that he chose the Northeast’s premier shuttle service to take him back home to our nation’s capital.” Flight attendant Simranjeet Sodhi also made a special onboard announcement welcoming the former president’s likeness.

Other figures at this new attraction will include 13 presidents ranging from George Washington to George W. Bush; famous Washingtonians, including legendary reporter Bob Woodward and music icon Duke Ellington; sports legends, including Babe Ruth and Tiger Woods, and today’s biggest celebrities from Brad Pitt to Jennifer Lopez. Visitors also will get an up-close look at the 200-year-old process that Madame Tussauds uses to create their famous wax figures.

Madame Tussauds is within walking distance of the National Mall and the White House, with its entrance on the corner of F and 10th streets. Other Madame Tussauds museums, besides it flagship London location, are in Amsterdam, Hong Kong, Las Vegas, New York City and Shanghai.
